Relaxing Into Your Life
Thursday, April 26th, 2007I am on a roll this week! I received information this week about learning to relax into our lives. What I mean by this is not to be constantly constructing our lives but to actually relax into who we are. How does one go about doing this? I believe we need to start learning the rhythms of our bodies and who we are. That is to be aware of when we are hungry and listen to what the body wants and not what we think we need to eat. It is listening to our sleep patterns and learning to honour them. It is listening to when the body wants to rest and not always overriding it because we think we have more important things to do. These are not easy tasks, as we have learned in our society to over ride these systems and we think we know what is best.
I have found as I have started to listen, the body is moving towards its optimum performance but I have had to learn to move past my fears, that it will be out of control and I will become a fat, lazy, broke, blob!
The body is much happier when I allow it to be the director of what it needs, my mind is the fearful part that has many dire predictions!
Doing this will take trust and patience and a willingness to believe in a greater good! It is worth the journey though, as you will feel a great deal of peace within the body.
